Walking with Friends in Northern California. Consider Walking on Your Travels too!
This writer recently enjoyed several wonderful walk opportunities while visiting out of state. During the CAA Convention, hosted by the Sundial Strollers in Redding, California, I joined several others from Oregon and Washington for three new walks developed just for Convention participants. This was a special treat for me, because I grew up in the area, but moved away nearly 30 years ago. Since then a tremendous emphasis has been placed on creating walking and biking path along the various waterways in the area. I enjoyed walking the Clear Creek Trail along the area where I swam as a child and the Upper Sacramento Ditch Trail near Shasta Dam, where my father once worked. I especially enjoyed the new addition to the Riverwalk, along the Sacramento River in the heart of Redding. The Sundial Strollers have done a great job of continuing to incorporate new walking opportunities as they are developed throughout the area. Redding YREs.
